The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of Article 7 by a vote of 5-0 <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 7 by a vote of 7-0 <br />Motion Made by Selectman Gottlieb: <br /> <br />I move that the Town vote to appropriate and transfer the sum of $57,900 from revenue available for <br />appropriation to the Department of Public Works Capital Account contingent upon the award of a Shared <br />Streets and Spaces Grant. <br /> <br />Motion passes at 7:23 PM <br /> <br />Article 8 <br /> <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer the sum of $25,000 from revenue available for appropriation <br />to pay for costs associated with the preparation and possible implementation of the Residential Tax Exemption for the <br />FY 2023 tax year, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> <br /> Submitted by the Finance Director <br /> <br />Explanation: This article will provide funding for costs associated with preparation for possible implementation of <br />the residential tax exemption for FY 2023. These costs include software updates, printing, mailing and consultant <br />fees, if necessary. <br /> <br />The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of Article 8 by a vote of 5-0 <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 8 by a vote of 4-2 <br />Motion Made by Selectman Cotton: <br />I move that the Town vote to approve Article 8 as printed in the Warrant, with the exception of the phrase “or <br />take any other action relating thereto.” <br />Motion passes at 7:24 PM <br /> <br />Article 9 <br />To see if the Town will appropriate and transfer pursuant to the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B, §6 to reserve from <br />the Community Preservation Fund Budgeted for Appropriation Reserve, the following amounts: <br /> $28,692.00 10% Open Space/Recreation Purposes <br /> $28,692.00 10% Historic Purposes <br /> $28,692.00 10% Affordable Housing Purposes <br />or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee <br /> <br />Explanation: This is a “clean-up” article to meet the requirement of reserving funds from the CPA FY 2022 Trust <br />Fund distribution. The amount of FY 2022 state reimbursement received by the Town of Mashpee was $286,926 <br />higher than the initial estimate. We are required to set aside 10% of those excess funds and deposit them into each <br />of the CPA reserves. Funding shall derive from the Community Preservation Budgeted for Appropriation Reserve. <br />The Community Preservation Committee recommends approval of Article 9 by a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br /> <br />
