Mashpee Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC) <br /> Minutes — April 26, 2022 <br /> 6:00 PM <br /> Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Carol Sherman, Denise Dutson, Pamela McCarthy, Patrice Pimental, Glenn <br /> Thompson <br /> Absent: Robyn Simmons <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Carol Sherman opened the meeting at 6:05 p.m. <br /> 2. Approval of minutes <br /> • EDIC minutes of 1/25/2022; Pamela McCarthy moved the committee approve the <br /> minutes, Glenn Thompson seconded, the committee approved. <br /> • EDIC minutes of 3/24/2022; Pamela McCarthy moved the committee approve the <br /> minutes, Glenn Thompson seconded, the committee approved.. <br /> 3. Finance Report <br /> Carol Sherman reported that the EDIC's regular checking account has a balance of$23,788.48 <br /> and savings has a balance of $305,265.17. <br /> 4. Old Business <br /> Workforce Housing on Commercial Street/Feasibility Study: The Committee should expect the <br /> bill for this by the end of May. <br /> Discussion about the meeting with Weston & Sampson Consultants at the EDIC: The Committee <br /> talked about the last meeting, where consultants with Weston & Sampson learned about some <br /> of the EDIC's thoughts about the direction of the town. Carol brought up Caroline Sweet's point <br /> about how the overlay district is helpful to redevelopment, an how there is money/funding for <br /> taking existing buildings and redeveloping them for business and residential use. She suggested <br /> that the EDIC could approach business property owners, such as the owner of the Barn plaza <br /> on Route 28, about redeveloping their property in this way (with businesses and residences). <br /> Evan would know about the funding options that are available. <br /> Job Fair: Unfortunately, there was a low turnout for the job fair. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 6:34 PM. <br /> Respect Ily submitted by Pamela McCarthy <br />
