[Agenda topic 3] Mashpee Wakeby Lake Study <br /> Discussion: The kick off meeting for the study was held May 5'h and afterwards the scope of the study <br /> was changed. It will focus more on storm water with an emphasis on the bog and Cove Rd. storm water <br /> runoff contributing to poor water quality. There is a question on whether funds left over from the study <br /> could be used for storm water improvements and engineering studies. Flowmeters will be placed between <br /> Mashpee and Wakey Lakes and by the outflow to the Mashpee River. New watershed areas maps will be <br /> developed showing how the fresh water areas affect the salt water bays into which they flow. <br /> ......................... <br /> Conclusions: The study will begin focusing on studying storm water runoff and water quality. <br /> [Agenda topic 4] Spring Newsletter <br /> Discussion: The newsletter was approved by the Town Manager and 25 copies were printed,A few were <br /> left in the lobby of the Town Hall and will be replenished periodically. Barbara will ask David <br /> Delvecchio to post it on the town website. <br /> ..... ... ..... ..................... ....... ....- ............ ....... ....... . <br /> Conclusions: The spring newsletter is out and being distributed. <br /> [Agenda topic 5] Support Letter for Clean Water <br /> Plan <br /> Discussion: Mike's letter to the Select Board Chair Andrew Gottlieb, with revisions by Paul Bibo, was <br /> unanimously approved. The letter, advocating Sewering around the lake in the early phases, was signed <br /> by members and will be sent to the Select Board.. <br /> Conclusions: The MWLMC letter promoting early sewering around the lake has been written and sent. <br /> [Agenda topic 6] Na WAKE Zones <br /> Discussion: Larger signs will be placed on the narrows area. They had previously been used by the canal <br /> power plant. <br /> Conclusions: Larger signs will be much more visible. <br /> (Agenda topic 71 Ramp Attendant <br /> Discussion: A ramp attendant has been hired by the Recreation Dept. The position includes duties such as <br /> helping with safety inspections,prevention of power loading, and prevention of swimming in the launch <br /> area. <br /> Conclusions: A boat ramp attendant has been hired by the Town for the State Boat Ramp. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 7:54 P.M. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Barbara B.
