<br />There was a discussion about creating a Volunteer Committee starting with scheduling a Dig Day <br />or two. <br /> <br />3. ARC Update. <br />Mr. McElligatt stated that he has planned a site visit to the FLUPSY that’s been installed in <br />Fairhaven. <br />He is working with Dale Leavitt to determine the proper way to anchor it and the proper weights <br />based on the one that he has on his farm. The following week it will be delivered to the Great <br />River boat ramp, hook it up to the mooring and it should be all set. However, it’s late in the <br />season but they should be able to collect some good data on seed growth. <br /> <br />4. DNR quahog dig on June 23, 2022. <br />It was determined that 35 to 40 thousand quahogs were dug and relocated to family digging areas. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Shellfish Warden Update. <br /> <br />Mr. McElligatt stated that most of the seed that was expected has been received. <br />It’s been a rapid growth year for oysters and water temperature has caused stagnation of growth. <br />There has not been any mass mortality. <br />There has been one confirmed case of Vibrio in Town. <br />Mr. Thomas inquired about the status of the current Rules and Regulations and Mr. McElligatt <br />stated that they did not have to go before the Attorney General because they are a “Sub-Bylaw” <br />and that they implemented and in place. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL TOPICS <br />Reorganization of the Shellfish Commission due to this being the first meeting of the Fiscal Year. <br /> <br />Mr. McElligatt made a motion to nominate Peter Thomas as the Chairman of the Shellfish Commission. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Holmes. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />Mr. Thomas made a motion to nominate Richard Cook as the Vice-Chairman of the Shellfish <br />Commission. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. McElligatt. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />Mr. Thomas made a motion to nominate Daryl Christensen as the Clerk of the Shellfish Commission. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Holmes. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Mr. Holmes made a motion to adjourn. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Christensen. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:43pm. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />Susan Donovan <br />Board Secretary <br />2 <br /> <br />
