Their
respective notes were recorded by each member on an interview form with space for their
notes. Each member devoted one interview form for each candidate interviewed
The interview forms are to be forwarded to the Chairperson for inclusion in the Committee
recommendation to the Select Board. The recommendation submitted will be made part of
these minutes.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Ms. Coleman spoke with the members of the Tribal Housing Commission about holding a
meeting with the Affordable Housing Committee. Chairwoman Robyn Tobey Sweeting
requested the Committee share some details for an agenda for such a meeting. The Tribe is
not sure what is being asked of them. Once they have that information, they will be happy to
set up a meeting which would include the Committee's agenda concerns.
Mr. Isbitz asked if the Committee concern for the state's Subsidized Housing Inventory (SHI)
was part of her conversation. Ms. Coleman replied that they would like to see a more
comprehensive list of the Committee concerns.
Mr. Isbitz reiterated this meeting is to clarify some numbers on the SHI. This Committee can
explain why we want it and how it benefits the town. This can be added as an agenda item,
ideas of what we want from the Tribe and what they want from us. They don't feel their
members are competitive for programs. If they can come with two or three issues of concern
for both sides as a brainstorming exercise that would be great.
Ms. Pina would like to continue this discussion next meeting. She wants to be respectful of
the time the Committee is spending on interviews tonight.
Mr. Isbitz followed with a concern for following up on the grant the Housing Authority received
from the CPC to replace roofs and siding at 2 of the MHA's older projects. He felt it may be
time to ask the MHA Director to come to one of the upcoming meetings of the Committee and
give us a status report on this project. He also mentioned that perhaps it was time to ask
Mashpee Commons to come to one of the upcoming Committee meetings and brief us on the
progress of his current Phase 1a Chapter 40B project, and talk about his recent
announcement to implement the rest of the Phase 1 ZBA-approved Chapter 40B
Comprehensive plan.
2
