9. MPS District COVID-19 Health Coordinator, Stacey Schakel: <br /> Ms. Schakel updated the committee on the district's current health and safety needs including: COVID-19 <br /> protocols,testing, and vaccinations. <br /> 10. Report of the Superintendent: <br /> Professional Development Update(11/15 Half Day; 11/1 Staff Meeting)--PFS Pillars 1 and 3: <br /> Educators participated in a half day of professional development on November 15th. The focus of this day was <br /> on the Portrait of A Graduate--competency number one(Purposeful Communicator/Collaborator). This work <br /> is tied to the Plan for Success. Superintendent DeBoer attended each school's staff meeting on November 1 st <br /> to provide professional development on MTSS as part of her SY21-22 goals (Student Learning Goals). <br /> Enrollment and Personnel Updates: <br /> Superintendent DeBoer shared updates on new hires, transfers and retirements. <br /> School Year 21-22 Update including Administrator updates: <br /> Report of the Special Education Director, Outreach Coordinator, and Athletics Director in packet(pages 9-13) <br /> Dr. Goulart discussed the flag raising event that took place at the Coombs School, as well as other events that <br /> took place as part of Native American Cultural Awareness week. She also announced the annual Giving Tree <br /> event is being planned for December loth. <br /> Ms. O'Brien announced that the recently elected Student Council has been working on a variety of service <br /> projects. <br /> Acknowledgements: <br /> Superintendent DeBoer recognized Darius Coombs and Cameron Greendeer for leading Mashpee Wampanoag <br /> cultural assemblies at each school and David and Cheenulka Pocicnett as well as Skyla rimple for their <br /> participation at the MASC/MASS 2021 Joint Conference. <br /> Superintendent's Proposed FY23 Budget Narrative: <br /> The Superintendent presented her proposed FY23 budget and reviewed the internal process for its development. <br /> FY22 Calendar Change: <br /> FY22 school year calendar revised given the cancellation of two school days due to a Nor'easter on October 27 <br /> and October 28, 2021 to reflect the new projected last day of school is Tuesday, June 21, 2022. The revised <br /> calendar also reflects the recognition of the Juneteenth holiday on Monday,June 20,2022.
