5. Superintendent • School Year 22-23 Preliminary Planning/Convocation o The Superintendent provided an overview of the agenda for Convocation on Monday,August 29, 2022 • Principal Updates o Quashnet School Principal O'Brien updated members on enrollment,transition activities, student placement, and the status of building improvements. o Mashpee Middle-High School Principal Monette provided members with an update on new staff, and transition events. Student schedules will be available on August 26, 2022. o Coombs School Principal Goulart informed the members that kindergarten enrollment is under 100 students, enrollment into the 4-year old preschool program is a bit under, however the 3-year old program is robust. The Coombs School is looking forward to welcoming students. • Personnel Update o The Superintendent stated that only one position remains unfilled (MMHS Athletic Trainer/Assistant Athletic Director) • SY22-23 Updated Parent/Student Handbooks(Coombs, Quashnet, MMHS) Motion made to approve SY22-23 Parent/Student Handbook changes as presented Motion made to approve: Don Myers Second: Matt Davis Roll Call Vote: In favor: Cathy Lewis, Brian Weedent, Don Myers, Matt Davis Opposed: • Upcoming Events o The Superintendent presented the calendar of Upcoming Events to members 6. Specifically Assigned/Unfinished Business • Student Advisory Committee (M.G.L. ch 71, section 38M) o Vice Chair Lewis would like to develop an action plan in regards to creating and implementing a Student Advisory Committee to the School Committee. A more in depth discussion will take place at the September meeting.
