Mash nclCusion a d Dtf ersity Committee
... ........w.___________._.........._._ .. .wwww... wwwww_........................ .x._ .._ w. ........ww_ww_.........._._._ mmm...__w_w_w....w_...............
16 Great .Neck Road Worth
Mashpee, .7V_A 02649
Mr. Klein thinks it will be more difficult to target the associations, but it would work in Town Hall
because they have to come here and apply for various things. If we get the flyers and put them
up by the Town Clerk or Planning Department, new people will get them.
Ms. Stevenson thinks there should be a kiosk at the Mashpee Commons and Town Hall that
has something historical, that will identify Tribal sites, trails, guides, and events on what is
going on in this community.
Ms. Landry noted most people operate online these days, and she inquired about what is
available online for people.
Mr. Klein stated the town website needs to be updated, it is lacking information.
Ms. Johnson-Graham commented that a lot of people still don't know there is Wampanoag
regalia.
Ms. Stevenson noted at one of the LCP workshops they asked about community events that
bring people together, Race Amity Day was brought up, the Powwow, and the Commons had
some events. The consultants see these events as things that bring value to a community.
Ms. Landry reminded everyone of the bicentennial celebration that was supposed to occur
where everyone was welcome but COVID prevented the event.
Ms. Stevenson would also like to reach out to the historian who is in charge of the One Room
School House. He would be another person to invite.
4. Plan for 2022123 "Belonging"
It was decided by the Committee that the meetings for July and August will be canceled, there
will be a summer break.
Mr. Kupferman noted the Committee worked hard all spring and they deserve a break.
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION:
Mr. Klein made a motion to adjourn the meeting of the Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity
Committee at 6:00p.m. Seconded by Mr. Kupferman. All in favor.
