Silliman requesting a Written <br /> Finding under§174-17 of the Zoning Bylaws to allow for an extension, alteration of an existing <br /> deck on property located in the R-3 Zoning District and Popponesset Overlay District, at 35 <br /> Wilsons Grove, Map 118 Parcel 87, Mashpee, MA. (Owner(s) of record: Robert T. Silliman, <br /> Anne Marie Colbrook, Frederick S. Silliman, and Helen Louis Capizzi.) <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter <br /> 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a newspaper of general <br /> circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on May 27, 2022 and June 3, 2022 a copy of which is <br /> attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the provisions of <br /> Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A §6 and the Town of Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Public Hearings were held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on Wednesday, June 22, <br /> 2022 at which time the following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting <br /> throughout; Chairman,Jonathan Furbush,Vice Chairman,William Blaisdell,Board Members, <br /> Scott Goldstein, and Associate Members, Sharon Sangeleer and Robert Caggiano. <br /> Mr. Silliman represented the petition requesting to replace an old deck with a newer 10 x 20 <br /> deck. It will be less than 2 ft.high one step from the ground,with railings and a handicap ramp. <br /> It will be built on sono tubes. The lot coverage is expanding from 22.5% to 24.8% which is <br /> well within the allowed 25%lot coverage in the Popponesset Overlay District. <br /> Mr. Morris mentioned that this application was brought before the Board back in 2016 when <br /> the bylaw percent lot coverage was 20%, and was amended in 2018 to 25%. He's expanding a <br /> non-conformity which is allowed under the bylaw §174-17. <br /> 1 <br />
