Masbpee - Wakeby Lake Management
Committee
November 22, 2022 7:00 PM
................................... .. _M.. ......,._w...w . _......_......m, .._ ..............., Mashee Town Hall..
Meeting called by: Paull Bibo
Type of meeting: Monthly
Secretary Barbara B. Nichols
Attendees: Members: Donald MacDonald, Barbara Nichols, Mike Rapacz,
Guests:
The minutes of the October 25, 2022 meeting were accepted as written after a motion by Don MacDonald
and second by Mike Rapacz
Agenda toplCs
[Agenda topic 1] Lake level/ River outflow
Discussion: Debi did the lake measurements on November I" and November 15t". Both times there were
55.2 feet above sea level. "There were 13 and 9.5 inches of water were flowing over the board closest to
the lake. On the 1st, there were 9 inches of water in the stream by the stairs and there were 8,5 inches on
the 15t"- From mid -October to mid -November there were 5.1 inches of water in Barbara's rain gauge.
Levels were reported to Drew McManus in Conservation.
Don emailed Catherine Laurent in DPW for information on how the new gauge correlated with the old
measurements. No response was received. We know that there is 10 inches on the new gauge witb the
zero resting on the cement cage floor at 53.3 feet above sea level. "This equals 55.2 feet above sea level on
the white gauge put in by Horsley and Whitten Group in 2006.
The brush had been cut back along the path by Drew McManus in Conservation.
Conclusions: The lake level is stable at 55.2 ft. above sea level despite increased precipitation.
[Agenda topic 2] Fall Newsletter
Discussion: The newsletter was approved by the Town Manager on November I It" and 15 copies were
made. Some were displayed in the Town Hall and a copy was emailed to IT where Clay Nicholson
posted it on the Town web site.
Conclusions: The newsletter is now available in paper copies at Town Hall and online on the town
website under our committee's name.
