NEW BUSINESS
1. Discussion with Kevin Connolly, Mashpee Plumbing and Gas Inspector.

Mr. Connolly was presented a list of questions by the Commission.

Question #1: You were involved with the Falmouth sewer services and lift stations. Having that knowledge,
what problems/issues should the Sewer Commission be proactive in addressing?

Mr. Connolly stated that he was not involved in any of the installations of the homes in Falmouth and only
attended the meetings regarding the E1 pumps.

Question #2: What steps would you recommend the Commission take to help our residents in locating their
proposed sewer services stakes and to help reduce resident concerns and costs?

Mr. Connolly stated that he recommends that the plot plan be obtained and have someone find out where the
septic comes out of the home and then determine where the stake could be placed where the tie-in would be.
He recommended getting three quotes on the work to be done.
He stated if the septic comes out of the front of the house and has a finished basement they may need to
access at the rear of the home.

Question #3: As the Town Plumbing Inspector, have you set in place your requirements to permit and install
the sewer services and lift stations?

It was stated that the fee hasn’t been decided yet and that he’s sure it will be a base fee.

Question #4: In reference the sewer services and lift stations, etc. have you shared your knowledge with Mr.
Jack, the Board of Health or any other Town Officials?

Mr. Connolly said that he has only spoken with Mr. Jack and Phyllis Sprout thus far and that he is a part time
employee. His responsibilities are to inspect from the inner face of the foundation of the home to 10’ out. He
is questioning who will be responsible for inspecting from the 10’ mark out to the street. He again stated that
he is part time and doesn’t have the time to do it.
Mr. Connolly stated that he has a call into the State Plumbing Inspector and will contact the Plumbing Board to
see if the system will be a dedicated system and who will be responsible for inspecting from the tank to the
street.
Mr. Connolly was asked how long an inspection takes and he responded that each inspection should take 15
minutes or so.

2.
