ADA Committee Meeting Minutes <br />Waquoit Meeting Room <br />Thursday, November 10, 2022 <br />Ms. Laurent discussed the DPW responsibilities for the Town. As the Town implements new <br />projects, accessibility is always something that is important and required. She mentioned <br />that as the new traffic signals are constructed on Rte. 151, they are equipped with audible <br />signals. She briefly discussed the funding program with the State. <br />Mr. Cotton commended the road work that was done on Cotuit Road. He said on every <br />aspect, the reconstruction of the road, especially accessibility and travel has greatly <br />improved. <br />Ms. Meehan asked what the process would be to submit comments and ideas to the Select <br />Board, and open meeting law requirements. Mr. Cotton said make sure to copy the Chair on <br />any written comments. Two members present is not a quorum. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Mr. Blum would like to have measuring level devises available for the inspectors. He said he can <br />call Tammy Cunningham to see where she bought them. <br />Mr. Morris mentioned he went to a store in Town but they did not have those devices. He will <br />have to do a special order online. Mr. Morris had copies of the AAB regulations for the <br />Committee. <br />Mr. Blum asked Mr. Cotton if he could look into the percentage of handicapped accessible <br />apartments of the affordable housing that are being built. He also would like to increase the <br />Committee membership from five members to seven or nine members. <br />Mr. Cotton said there are not enough volunteers available at this time. He thanked the <br />Committee for their service. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />1. The guest speaker for CORD (Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled). Did not attend <br />the meeting. <br />2. Return to monthly meetings. The Committee would like all members present to vote. <br />3. Handicapped Accessible Parking —Summerwood Condos. <br />Mr. Blum mentioned that there was difficulty with the parking at Summerwood Condos. He <br />had a conversation with the resident, the Management office and the President of the <br />association. The issues were resolved, and he has not heard anything further. <br />2 <br />
