<br /> <br />SHELLFISH COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />APRIL 11, 2023 – 6:00PM <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL – 16 GREAT NECK ROAD NORTH <br />WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM <br /> <br />PRESENT: Chair Peter Thomas, Co-Chair, Dick Cook, Daryl Christensen, Jaime Pachico <br /> <br />OTHER ANTENDEES: Shellfish Constable, Chris Avis <br /> <br />ABSENT: Bill Holmes <br /> Buddy Pocknett <br /> <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chair Thomas called the meeting to order in Open Session in the <br />Waquoit Meeting Room at 6:00PM. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: None at this time. <br /> <br />MINUTES: Discussion and approval of the March 14, 2023 Shellfish Commission Meeting minutes. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Christensen to accept the March 14, 2023 Shellfish Commission Meeting <br />minutes with amendments. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Avis. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: None at this time. <br /> <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />1. Staffing update on the Natural Resources Officer open position and Seasonal Summer help. <br /> <br />Mr. Avis stated that the Natural Resources Officer position was offered to someone and that the hiring <br />process is continuing. <br /> <br />There have been 5 letters of interest received for Seasonal Summer help. There is one more person <br />needed. <br /> <br />2. Harbor Management Plan: Update on recent meetings. <br /> <br />The Public Forum event was held at the library. It was estimated that over 50 people attended. There <br />were separate tables for information about water quality, shellfish, Harbor Master, Conservation, etc. <br />The Harbor Management Committee decided, at their last meeting, to distribute flyers at the transfer <br />station in order to reach snow birds as well as planning another event to be held during the summer. <br />The next Committee meeting is April 19, 2023. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
