<br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> April 24, 2023 Select Board Agenda item regarding Mohamad Fahd Board status. <br />It was reported that the continuation of the public hearing regarding Mohamad Fahd board status has <br />been put on the Select Board agenda for Monday, April 24, 2023 at 6:30 pm in the Waquoit meeting <br />room. <br />REPORTS: <br /> 2023 Gardeners’ plot assignments, including wait list – Sheryl Carberry. <br />Sheryl Carberry distributed handouts and said most gardeners are confirmed for their current or new <br />plots. There are possibly two new plots available and at the moment there is no waitlist. Chair <br />Scharfenberg stated that she will send out a group email to all confirmed gardeners. <br /> <br /> Remaining funds. <br />Chair Scharfenberg stated that there is $4,737.11 in remaining funds. She said that the water pressure <br />at the garden is not good and would like to see if some of the funds might be used to have a direct line <br />installed. She said she will speak with Catherine Laurent at the DPW and come up with a plan to discuss <br />at the next meeting. She wants to have this issue addressed before gardening gets into full swing. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Revised Rules and Regulations posted on website. <br />It was stated that the current Rules and Regulations and are on the website along with the recently <br />completed Additional Information document. <br /> <br /> Changes to website. <br />A few minor changes were made to the Rules and Regulations before they were posted on the <br />website. <br /> <br /> Board Subcommittees. <br />The Committee is working on establishing subcommittees. <br />A few ideas discussed : caring for the shed, assisting with the native plant garden, publicity and <br />marketing, planning gardening events, graphic design and welcoming new gardeners. <br />Chair Scharfenberg said the difficult part is making gardeners aware of the subcommittees and <br />monthly volunteer work requirement without over complicating the process. Lynn Harris suggested <br />Google Drive for members to access and sign up to participate. Sheryl Carberry suggested posting a <br />signup sheet in the shed. This will be further discussed at next meeting. <br /> <br /> Planning for future bimonthly talks. <br />There was a discussion about planning at least one or two bimonthly talks for gardeners and the <br />public. More informal ones could take place at the garden and more formalized ones at the library. <br />Chair Scharfenberg asked if any of the Committee Members had ideas about topics and Lynn Harris <br />mentioned reaching out to local organic farms to see if they would be interested in talking about the <br />organic aspect of gardening and what the best practices are for organic gardening. <br /> <br /> Possible new video for website and distribution – Jay Sprout at Sprout Farm and Community <br />Gardeners. <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
