Finance Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> September 2, 2021 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: (moved up) <br /> 1) Town Manager Updates: <br /> Mr. Collins called attention to financial summaries prepared by the Finance Director regarding the <br /> receipt and disbursement of COVID related funds, providing assurance that no expenses were <br /> authorized or incurred unless absolutely essential in his judgement. He invited members of the <br /> finance committee to furnish specific questions on any item. <br /> Mr. Collins also reported on an earlier request about the number of citations issues by Mashpee <br /> Police for violations of the town's littering by-law. A review of the past three years' records reveal <br /> that there were none. He was thanked for attending and all continuing efforts on behalf of the town. <br /> RETURN TO OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 2) Review Article Explanations for Finance Committee report <br /> The proposed draft explanations by the Finance Committee were all reviewed and revised as <br /> needed. The results are to be compiled by Chairman Pettengill, and incorporated herein as <br /> referenced. <br /> 3) Review draft letter to voters for Finance Committee report <br /> Mr. Pettengill presented his draft letter for inclusion in the October 181" town meeting "blue book". <br /> MOTION: To approve the letter as presented. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 7-0 <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Pettengill, yes Mr. Brady, yes Mr. Carrier, yes Mrs. Furbush, yes <br /> Mr. McKelvey, yes Mr. Miller, yes Mr. Richardson, yes Opposed, none <br /> 4) Update on status of annual audit request for proposal draft from the subcommittee <br /> Mr. Richardson provided hard copies of a document containing various town name and other <br /> references in the Harwich RFP, modified by hand, for our consideration. Mr. Miller noted that an <br /> electronic Word document version of similar changes had previously been prepared and <br /> distributed. The Chair asked that the document again be e-mailed to all Finance Committee <br /> members. Mr. Miller said he would do so.
