12 <br />Board of Selectmen <br />Minutes <br />December 7, 2020 <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Discussion and Approval of Authorization for the Town Manager to Solicit Quotes, and to Negotiate and <br />Execute a Memorandum of Understanding or other Agreement Relative to Prospective Administration of <br />The Mash ee Housing Assistance Pro rant II: (continued) <br />A brief discussion followed with respect to available funds. <br />Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to authorize the Town Manager on behalf of the Municipal Affordable <br />Mousing Trust to solicit proposals for the provisions of service related to the Mashpee Housing Assistance <br />Program II for the benefit of Mashpee residents offering short term rental assistance, mortgage assistance <br />for short term and to those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic for Calendar Year 2021 for an amount <br />not to exceed $75,000 (total value of contract). <br />Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 7-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes <br />Selectman Gottlieb, yes <br />Mr. Richardson, yes <br />Selectman O'Hara, yes <br />Selectman Weeden, yes <br />Opposed, none <br />Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Mr. Isbitz, yes <br />With regards to the Community Preservation Committee appropriation of $110,000 per year for the Housing <br />Assistance Program II over the three year term, it was reaffirmed the monies are transferred to the Municipal <br />Affordable housing Trust under the care and custody of the Municipal Affordable Housing Trust as per the <br />May 2019 Town Meeting vote of approval. Monies are thus controlled by the Trust for Affordable Housing <br />purposes, and are permissible for use by an additional entity for the administration of the available funds. <br />With the continuation of the Housing Assistance Program II administered by a new agency, the Municipal <br />Affordable Housing Trust will reevaluate the demand of the program in the future and secure additional funds <br />if necessary.
