Mashpee Select Board <br /> Minutes <br /> August 21, 2023 <br /> RECONVENE OPEN SESSION—6:32 p.m. <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Monda Aug test 7 2023 Re Ular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the Regular Session minutes of Monday, <br /> August 7,2023 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Wyman-Colombo. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Wyman-Colombo,yes Opposed,none <br /> APPOINTMENTS&HEARINGS <br /> Discussion of Draft Town Meeting Warrant Zonin ,A rticles: <br /> Building Commissioner David Morris;Zoning Board of Appeals Chair Ron Bonvie <br /> Members of the Select Board discussed and clarified several articles submitted by the Planning Board proposed for <br /> the October 16, 2023 Town Meeting Warrant with Ron Bonvie, Chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals and David <br /> Morris,the Building Commissioner. <br /> Article 1: To amend the Zoning Bylaw to require new construction or the redevelopment of homes in the <br /> Floodplain Zone Overlay District utilize either a solid-wall foundation with flood vents or pilings <br /> for new homes or redeveloped homes. The article also requires properties touched by the <br /> Floodplain install Innovative/Alternative septic systems unless served by a public or private <br /> wastewater treatment facility. <br /> In reviewing the context of this article, it was recommended by the ZBA Chair and Building Commissioner to <br /> remove the last sentence under Prohibitions from this article. Agreement to include I/A system requirement. <br /> Remove:For the purposes of this Section any lot which is partially located within the Floodplain Zone <br /> Overlay District shall be subject to the fill prohibitions described within§174-67. <br /> Article 2: To allow property owners who construct accessory apartments to live in their accessory apartment <br /> and rent their principal dwelling to tenants. The current bylaw restricts a property owner from <br /> residing in the accessory apartment while renting their principal dwelling. <br /> The language as written was agreed upon. <br />
