Bylaw Review subcommittee: Agent to schedule next meeting

Johns Pond and Santuit Pond Milfoil: No new updates

Chop Chaque Bog Restoration: Notice of Intent to be filed for late Sept/early October
for Commission review.

Local Comprehensive Plan: No new updates

Land Acquisition Sub-Committee: Agent recommends adding this to the
Environmental Oversight Committee as ongoing agenda item

\[To address Ms. Zollo’s questions regarding this recommendation, Mr. Colombo asked
David Weeden, EOC Chair (Selectboard Member), to speak about this issue. Mr.
Weeden was unsure if EOC is empowered to form sub-committees and would need to
seek clarification. Ms. Zollo thought that the Conservation Commission was empowered
to form sub-committees as an alternative. Ms. Zollo explained her vision for the Land
Acquisition Sub-Committee being formed under the Conservation Commission
bringing/inviting outsiders and then reporting to the EOC. In response, Mr. Weeden
indicated there will be discussion on where the Land Acquisition Sub-Committee would
be best located – emphasizing the need to discuss with the Town Manager and Town
Counsel. Mr. Weeden expressed concern whether the Land Acquisition Sub-Committee
being under the Conservation Commission would interfere with future projects’ review.
Ms. Zollo indicated that she would be willing to provide support for Mr. Weeden. Mr.
Colombo asked if a representative from the Conservation Commission, in addition to his
representing the Conservation Commission on the EOC, would be possible (an
informational setting). Mr. Weeden supported the Conservation Department being
involved with the EOC but did not want to overwhelm staff. Mr. Colombo closed noting
the first step was to see where the subcommittee would reside and go from there.\]

Harbor Management Committee update: The next meeting is the last Tuesday in
September. No new updates.

There being no further topics, Mr. Cook made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by Ms.
Zollo which was unanimously approved.

Respectfully submitted,

Bradford Pierce, Board Secretary
Conservation Commission
