Chop Chaque Bog Restoration: the pondin species will be dealt withSeveral invasive .for invasive species treatment applicationherbicide Estimate Fall 2023 timeline for Johns Pond
and Santuit Pond Milfoil: hase. with Horsley Witten Group with 50% design pPublic scoping/stakeholder meeting to be scheduled Upper Quashnet Restoration:

Pre/Post Agenda Items

Mr. Kent provided the following updates:

Red Brook Road Culvert: Funding and permitting is set. The Conservation Agents met
with the representatives for abutters on both sides of Redbrook (Town of Falmouth &
Mashpee) to see if there was interest in selling the association land on either side to the
town or to a partnership entity in the refuge so we can pursue wetland restoration. Mr.
Kent noted there was interest in selling the property on Falmouth side which would be
ideal for future restoration. Mr. Kent noted there were some design things that were
sought by the neighborhood, but that was not something that could not be
accommodated.

DEP changed their stance on determination of
wetlands at this location and now agree that the big is an isolated wetland, which is what
we were hoping for. This means that there won’t be any added expense to the permitting
process, so we can move forward with the current plans for restoration. We will see a
Notice of Intent filed with the commission in late September. If approved, construction
may begin in the winter of 2024 as forecasted in the original timeline for this project. In
other words, we are on track for this project as originally intended

Land Acquisition Sub-Committee: In response to Ms. Zollo, Mr. Kent clarified that the
Land Acquisition Subcommittee will be moving forward. Ms. Zollo emphasized the need
to start having those meetings and requested a future date. Ms. Zollo indicated that the
purpose of the Sub-Committee is to elevate items to the EOC. Mr. Colombo noted there
th
was an introduction/organizational EOC meeting July 26. Ms. Zollo envisions the
creation of the Sub-Committee with members from various representatives (Tribe, Land
Trust, et cetera) working on the numerous environmental issues. Mr. Colombo noted
th
that a meeting prior to EOC’s August 30 meeting would be ideal. Mr. Kent and Ms.
stth
Zollo will work on arranging a meeting sometime between the 21 and 25. Ms. Zollo
clarified that this would be a sub-committee of the Conservation Commission with
outside participants which Ms. Zollo will spearhead. Mr. Colombo will notify David
Weedon to add the EOC agenda.

Beginning to wrap up, Mr. Colombo informed the Commission he has an upcoming meeting
arranged by Sue Dangle regarding the septic test site at Joint Base Cape Cod. Ms. Copeland
expressed interest in going – Mr. Colombo will forward Ms. Dangles contact information to see
if that could be arranged.

There being no further topics, Mr. Cook made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by Ms.
Zollo which was unanimously approved.
