Ch.91 Permitted Docks

Conservation Agent- Town record keeping / orders of conditions.

Ms. Fisher asked Mr. McManus to use Laser Fish to provide the information to the
PhD student working on the Ch. 91 water structures. Ms. Fisher noted that the PhD
student is documenting all the structures making spreadsheets for each body of
water.

Ms. Fisher noted that the assessor information might have more information on the
dock structures. (10A Structures). In response to Mr. Cook and Mr. Noonan, Ms.
Fisher indicated the goal is to know how many future structures should be allowed.
(Potential Moratorium). Ms. Novelly concurred noting water structures brought up
natural resources and navigation issues.

Informational “Pop-ups”

Locations to coincide with community events.

Ms. Fisher wants several tables with flyers. Ms. Fisher asked the Committee
members to participate throughout the community engagement. Mr. Lehrer noted
that most of the events he attended last year will be held again. Mr. Lehrer
indicated he could put together a list for Ms. Fisher and the Committee. As for
Chamber of Commerce events, it was noted that a list could be prepared as well.
Mr. Avis indicated he would reach out to the Chamber of Commerce about events.
It was suggested that the Chamber events should consist of a brief talk with a
pamphlet given out afterwards since many of the events occur in eating
establishments. Regarding Powwow, Mr. Oakley indicated he would investigate the
requirements of having a table at the event. Mr. Lehrer added that having a person
at as many events as possible should be the goal – a benefit of being seen
everywhere given the variation of feedback. Mr. Lehrer noted other events such as
the National Night Out and the Community Picnic. The goal is to attend all the
summer events. Mr. Lehrer indicated that the Senior Center and Southport would
be good venues, as well. Regarding the website survey, Ms. Novelly indicated it
would not be “live” yet.

o Environmental Justice Outreach

Ms. Uiterwyk discussed the criteria of environmental justice and reaching that
population. Mr. Lehrer noted that Mashpee Village was considered such an area
given the income levels and demographics. Mr. Lehrer noted that the Mashpee
Village’s Bingo Night would be a good opportunity to reach out to that part of the
population. Ms. Wyman-Colombo and Mr. Oakley thought that the Tribe itself was
an environmental justice group. Ms. Uiterwyk noted the there was a
Commonwealth map delineating those areas.

Summing up, Ms. Fisher indicated she would come up with an event list and
distribute it.
