Taylor <br />Meeting Called toOrderBy Chairman Cotton at 6:30 p.m. <br />Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Discussion and_Apfroval of Authprizing_the Town Manager to Send Letters of Suf tort for the <br />Bourne/Falmouth Multi Use Path Connecting the Shining Sea Bike Path to the Canal Bike Path aswa <br />Trail with Rail: <br />Correspondence was received from Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works dated November 15, <br />2023 recommending the Select Board vote to affirm the importance of the Falmouth secondary line <br />railroad tracks used to transport municipal solid waste. <br />The Town of Falmouth secondary railroad tracks serve the Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station to <br />transport municipal waste by rail off Cape. Transportation by rail is cost effective with less <br />environmental impacts, and the most favorable option for long term disposal. <br />Town Manager Rodney C. Collins recommended the Select Board authorize letters of support to retain <br />the secondary railroad tracks; rail with trail urging the appropriate state agencies as well as the Towns of <br />Falmouth and Bourne to move forward with the multi -use path connecting the Shining Sea Bike Path to <br />the Canal Bike Path as a rail with trail project. <br />Additional communication was received from Michael Renshaw, Town Manager of the Town of <br />Falmouth dated November 3, 2023 in support of the rail to maintain collective options open with the <br />Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station. His recommendation is expected to be presented to the <br />Falmouth Select Board at its December 4, 2023 meeting. <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to authorize the Town Manager to send letters of support for <br />the multi -use path connection as a rail with trail as referenced. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Wyman -Colombo. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />
