i <br /> r <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> January 3, 2005 <br /> Meeting re-convened: : 1 p.m. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> C nixnunity Septic Management Pro am: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Town of Eastham dated December <br /> 10, 2004 relative to their vote to request the County to administer the <br /> Community Septic Management Program on behalf of the Town of <br /> Eastham. <br /> It was noted that recent legislation allows Barnstable County to borrow <br /> money from the Massachusetts Water Pollution Abatement Trust and <br /> assess betterments. <br /> There is no negative impact to the Town of Mashpee. It was agreed that <br /> continued priority would be given to low and moderate income residents. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to sent a letter of support to the <br /> Barnstable County Department of Health and Envlronmefit in similar <br /> fashion to the Town of Eastham letter regarding the administration of <br /> the Community Septic Management Program. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. - . <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Certification of Mpointmepl Process—Police Chief: <br /> 5 <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the appointment process for the position <br /> of Chief of Police. 1t was noted that all posting and department hiring <br /> policies have been met. The background verification cheek has also been <br /> completed. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers to confirm and certify the <br /> appointment of Rodney C. Collins to the position of Chief of Police for <br /> the Town of Mashpee. The Hiring Certification is in accordance with <br /> the'Town Charter that applicable due diligence has been followed in <br /> this process. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. . <br />
