Provided testing, isolation, quarantine guidance to Town employees who either test <br /> positive, are close contacts or are experiencing COVID-like symptoms <br /> Maintained open lines of communication with administrators at congregate care facilities <br /> regarding cases among residents and staff <br /> Continued to facilitate the transition of the full COVID contact-tracing caseload from the <br /> VNA to the County Health Department, in a manner that supported the needs of the <br /> School Nurse Coordinator <br /> Scheduled a second local booster clinic for individuals ages 12+on Wednesday, February <br /> 23rd from 1-3 PM at Christ the King Parish Hall. Prepared a clinic flyer and facilitated the <br /> widest possible dissemination <br /> Coordinated the acquisition of a small supply of COVID test kits from the Community <br /> Health Center for distribution to at-risk residents and employees <br /> Maintained communication with the County Health Department regarding status of 250 <br /> COVID test kits purchased through a bulk order <br /> Committed to participation in a COVID-Response Lessons Learned Conference in March, <br /> facilitated by the County Health Department <br /> MPS COVID PROTOCOLS PER LATEST DESE AND AAP GUIDELINES <br /> Test &Stay remains in effect thru February 4th. <br /> As of February 5th,the School has opted out of Test &Stay in lieu of the optional Weekly <br /> At-Home Testing Program. In-school contact tracing has been replaced with surveillance <br /> testing. <br /> Optional Pool Testing, aka weekly COVID Safety Checks, continue to be conducted on <br /> Tuesdays by an outside lab. There can be as few as 2 ppl/pool, but there is an average of <br /> 7 ppl/pool. Double PCR means that a positive or inconclusive leads to a re-test to <br /> determine who in the pool was positive. Individual positive results are reported by email <br /> to the parent and Nurse Stacey. <br /> Optional At-Home Tests are distributed to staff and students (Pre-K thru Grade 12) on <br /> Thursday. There are two tests in each kit for testing two consecutive Fridays. Positive <br /> results are reported by the parent to the Nurse Stacey. <br /> Approximately 400 staff(nearly 100%) have opted into at-home testing. Approximately <br /> 300 students(of 1500 total) have opted into at-home testing,but more are opting in every <br /> day. Participation is pretty consistent among the three schools. <br /> At this point, school health officials are not looking at vaccination status for anything <br /> other than identifying trends. They are seeing fully vaccinated/boosted symptomatic <br /> individuals test negative with the rapid test, and then positive on a re-test administered <br /> 48-72 hours after symptom onset. <br /> Close contacts within 90 days of testing positive are not required to quarantine unless <br /> symptoms develop. Per DPH, if new symptoms develop and the individual tests positive <br /> with 90 days of being positive, consider that a new positive, possibly infected with a <br /> different strain or new variant. <br /> DPH Decision regarding masks in schools. Governor Baker/DPH has lifted the mask <br /> requirement in K-12 schools on February 28th. The School Committee discussed this topic <br /> at their last meeting. They will revisit their decision on March 2nd. Some of their <br /> comments included the following: <br />
