Resource Areas: 150 ft buffer zone to LSCSF, <br /> salt marsh, coastal beach and Land Under Ocean. <br /> Pete McEntee of Engineering Works presented the proposal for a septic system upgrade <br /> from existing cesspool. New septic will be an I/A system with additional nitrogen removal. <br /> New system will be between the 100-150 ft buffer zone. Mr. McEntee explained the request <br /> for tree removal in the driveway for access concerns when it comes to the septic work. Board <br /> of Health has approved the plan. Mr. McEntee described mitigation offered up to compensate <br /> for loss of trees for septic upgrade work. Mrs. Zollo asked if any trees were being replaced. <br /> Mr. McEntee described that the site is not conducive to tree planting given the leach field <br /> location. Shrubs are recommended. Mrs Godfrey asked about the removal of the driveway <br /> trees. Explanation provided based on access concerns in this tight area. Additional <br /> discussion on the driveway trees. Agent suggested that there be a wait and see approach <br /> as far as the necessity to remove the trees in the driveway area with staff oversight once <br /> construction begins. Mr. Cook had no issues with the proposal. Mr. Colombo asked how many sludgehammer IA systems are in existence in <br /> the state and how DEP views them in general.
