<br />He stated that he is requesting a vote to repeal the Policy stating that the Town does not own the grinder <br />pumps. He said that by doing so will make the Town eligible for SRF reimbursements on them. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Co-Chair Harris to repeal Policy #2 of the Sewer Commission’s Rules and Regulations. <br />Motion seconded by Chair Smith. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />6. Meeting Times (Public Participation) – Jared Meader. <br />Jared stated that this item was brought up to him in another meeting and Thursdays at 2:00 in the afternoon <br />makes it difficult for people that work may want to participate in the meetings are unable to. He suggested <br />changing the day and time of the Sewer Commission meetings to Tuesday evenings at either 5:00 or 6:00pm <br />to allow for more public participation. <br />Co-Chair Harris stated that this is about the fourth meeting that this item has been brought up and she does <br />not support it. Jared stated that the main reason he wants to change the meeting time is because they are <br />moving into Phase 2 and is trying to close some of the gaps that occurred during Phase 1. Co-Chair Harris said <br />that she would be in support of it if it was to be kept track of to see if there is actually more public <br />participation and suggested a trial period. <br />Chair Smith made a motion to change the Sewer Commission meeting time and day to 5:00pm on <br />alternating Tuesdays for a trial period of 6 months. They will examine public participation and decide to <br />retain the schedule or change it back after the 6 month trial period. <br />Motion seconded by Phyllis Sprout. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent with one opposing vote by Mr. Lyons. <br /> <br />7. Website Revision Review. <br />Catherine Castaneda said that she is thrilled that they are moving forward on the street maps. She stated that <br />is will be super helpful and is her greatest concern right now. She would like to revisit this in a week or two to <br />see where we are at with it. She will start looking at the documentation and the Policy change regarding the <br />grinder pumps. <br /> <br />Correspondence <br />None at this Time. <br /> <br />Additional Topics <br />Michaela Wyman-Columbo stated that she is a trained researcher and has 15 years of experience working with <br />other trained researchers and would like to clarify what she considers a really dangerous misconception in <br />suggesting that DEP and EPA information isn’t peer reviewed, because it is. High quality journals are looking <br />for new information and what we are looking at is applied science and would not appear in a peer reviewed <br />journal.
