BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING TUESDAY,MAY 17, 2022 6:00 P.M. MASHPEE PUBLIC LIBRARY CONFERENCE ROOM Present: Beth Geatrakas, Sandi Lahart, Mary LeClair, Joan Lyons, Ann Macdonald,Ruth Nickerson. Also Present: Kathy Mahoney- Library Director, Lindsay Manning Assistant Library Director Joan Lyons, Co-Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Public Comment None. Aq)jjqjq.yal of Miyutes Mary LeClair motioned to approve the Regular Session minutes of April 12, 2022, as amended. Motion was seconded by Ann Macdonald. VOTE: Yes-6 Roll Call Vote: Beth Geatrakas, yes Sandi Lahart, yes Mary LeClair, yes Joan Lyons, yes Ann Macdonald, yes Ruth Nickerson, yes Library Director Re port Director _ The Library Director provided an update on staffing levels. One part-time Circulation Assistant position has accepted an offer, and will begin employment soon. Interviews for the seasonal Circulation Assistant position are taking place this week, and the Library Assistant positions will all be posted in the next several days. Recruitment for the Youth Services Librarian position is still in progress. Summer program planning is underway and there are many new initiatives in that regard for adults and children. Further details can be shared at the June meeting. Items of the Library of Things have been purchased, and cataloging, packaging and storage are being decided. Children's Room and Outdoor Area Tour and Discussion The group exited the Conference Room at 6:30 p.m. and proceeded to the Children's Room and Outdoor Garden. Main Children's Room: The discussion centered on the need to replace the carpet in the Children's Room, along with some of the furniture—chairs and tables to provide appropriate seating options for children of all ages, as well as their parents.
