M
The Library Director mentioned potentially creating a Program Series in memory of individuals, as we hold the
"Selander Open"mini-golf event every year in memory of Gloria Selander. This keeps her spirit alive, and
serves the public, and provides a fun free activity for families, which is what many of the Library's donors
would appreciate as an excellent use of a donation in their memory.
We need to develop a wish list of projects that are not time sensitive and can't depend on memorial donations
for completion. The Library Director said that the DPW Director approved the idea of creating a rain garden in
the drainage ditch, as that has been the topic of much discussion.
Once the wish list is developed this can be communicated to the Friends, along with the policy to clearly outline
their role in the process.
The Library Director mentioned that should like to start an oral history project for residents and that would be a
program series that could be funded in part by donations and/or memorial donations.
Buildin Use & Grounds
The current Meeting Room Policy is a solid document that has been reviewed, revised, and approved by Town
Counsel. The Library Director believes that many patrons don't read the policy or they don't share important
information with group members, which causes confusion or false expectations. Rewriting the policy would not
correct this issue, and Town Counsel would still have to review it and add appropriate legal language. The
Library Director proposed creating a list of Frequently Asked Questions, written in plain English that would be
easy for everyone to understand that could be used in tandem with the official policy. She also noted that we
would include an FAQ about current COVID protocols, which could be adapted over time.
Trustee Advocacy
Joan Lyons encouraged everyone to think about ways to engage with the community and hopes to get the
advocacy piece in gear again. Attending Chamber of Commerce meetings was a great way to meet people prior
to COVID closures.
Next Meetin ...Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
Adjournment
Ruth Nickerson motioned to adjourn. Sandra Lahart seconded the motion; and it was unanimously passed. The
meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathleen ahoney
 h
Library Director
LISTED DOCUMENTS
None
