The Library had over 4,000 Overdrive checkouts during the month <br /> of August. <br /> • Programming and Meeting Rooms <br /> o The meeting rooms schedule for October is busy. <br /> Many town boards and departments are using the Library spaces. <br /> • Town Meeting <br /> o Town Meeting is on Oct 17, 2022 <br /> o The Library has an article on the warrant to increase the Circulation <br /> Supervisor's position from 34.5 hours per week to 37.5 hours per week. <br /> • Budget <br /> o 2022 is a contract negotiation year <br /> Salary numbers for the budget will change after contracts have <br /> been negotiated. <br /> o The DPW Director is estimating that there will be a 23-24% increase in the <br /> cost of fuel. <br /> o The Library is not pursuing any Capital Improvement Program money as <br /> available funding is being requested for different town building to replace <br /> their HVAC systems. <br /> • Staffing <br /> o The Seasonal Circulation Assistant position will be vacated in early <br /> October. <br /> o The Youth Services Librarian position will be reposted soon. <br /> o The Library will also repost two Circulation Assistants positions and two <br /> Library Assistant positions <br /> There was a discussion about how part time positions do not <br /> meet the needs of the Library. <br /> Friends of the Mashpee Libra wLiaisonw Re ij <br /> The Friends of the Mashpee Library are beginning work on their annual appeal. <br /> Kathy Mahoney has been discussing the appeal with the Friends President, Yvette <br /> Shakespeare, and has suggested that the Friends ask for donations to be used to <br /> update the Children's Room. This suggestion was met with enthusiasm from the Board <br /> Members. There was also a discussion regarding the Friends current brochure. The <br />
