Three part-time staff members will be starting in the next two weeks, and then the
Youth Services Librarian position will be posted again near the end of the month.
The Library Operating Budget will be due around October 1, but figures will not reflect true numbers since
contract negotiations will begin in the Fall. There was a discussion of the various factors that are contributing
to the difficulties that libraries on the Cape are having filling vacant positions. The challenges are not specific
to just libraries, but are impacting businesses of all types who are struggling to attract qualified candidates.
Lack of housing and cost of living on Cape Cod are definitely impacting applicant pools.
Saturday numbers have been steady since opening and staff will focus on planning more programming for
Saturdays as we head into the Fall.
O eratin Bud et FY 24
