The staff of the state agencies discussed the importance of crafting and reviewing <br />policies to ensure that they are clear and current and educating staff and trustees on <br />their respective roles in the process. Books for children and teens are often primary <br />targets of challenges and this topic was discussed further in relation to materials in the <br />collection and materials that might be featured in displays. The Library Director <br />mentioned looking to the Mashpee schools to share their experiences. Trustee Kate <br />Milde works for the Mashpee schools and indicated that they are working on adding <br />diverse books to their school library collections. The Library Director noted that staff are <br />aware of the importance of diversity in the collections. <br />Friends Mof the zMash uee Libras ,Liaison Re ort <br />Joan Lyons did not have a report from the Friends of the Library since they changed <br />their meeting schedule for the month. <br />Trustee Adyocac <br />Supporting the Library's funding and budget requests were noted as the most important <br />issues for advocacy. The Trustees discussed the upcoming Town Meeting and the <br />need to attend the meeting to speak to their article on the warrant and answer any <br />questions about it. Kate Milde volunteered to be the spokesperson at Town Meeting. <br />Next Meetnn <br />The next regularly scheduled meeting would be on November 8, but since that is <br />Election Day, it was agreed to move the meeting to November 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. <br />Adjournment <br />Ann Macdonald motioned the meeting to be adjourned.
