1 <br /> CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES <br /> Monday, February 5, 2024 <br /> Waquoit Meeting Room— Mashpee Town Hall <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> 6:30 pm Convene Meeting in Open Session <br /> Present: John Miller, Darlene Furbush, Catherine Lewis, Don Myers, Carol A. Sherman, Mary <br /> Waygan <br /> Absent: Rodney C. Collins, Gregory McKelvey, David Weeden <br /> Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Moment of Silence <br /> Public Comment <br /> Comments from Lynne Barbee were distributed to the Committee. Ms. Barbee suggested the <br /> following: <br /> • Add "unsure" option to all questions <br /> • Question 1—add a note on how to access current charter <br /> • Question 4— options should be elected by voters, appointed by Select Board, appointed <br /> by Town Moderator, unsure <br /> • Select Board and Finance Committee sit on the panel for town meeting, yet one is <br /> appointed by the person who controls the meeting. <br /> • Question 7 -The warrant "blue book" should be both mailed and electronically sent. <br /> • Question 10—should read "community's" <br /> • Question 11—define difference between open and representative town meeting <br /> • Add the question of whether all town/committee meetings should be recorded <br /> video/audio and accessible. <br /> • Residents should be able to call in and comment during meetings or meetings should be <br /> done on Zoom. <br /> Minutes <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following: December 11, 2023 minutes. <br /> Motion made by Darlene Furbush to approve the December 11, 2023. Motion seconded by Kathy <br /> Lewis. <br />
