Environmental Oversight Committee Meeting <br /> January 29',2024 <br /> 4:00 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Popponesset Meeting Room-Minutes <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee Mashpee, MA,02619 <br /> Meeting Minutes: <br /> Members Present:Paul Colombo,Ashley Fisher,Anne Malone, Laishona Vitelli,and Alexandra Zollo, <br /> Members Absent: Dale Oakley Jr. and David Weeden <br /> CALL TO ORDER 4:05 p.m. — Convened in Open Session <br /> ➢ The meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. at the Mashpee Town Hall, Popponesset <br /> Meeting Room. <br /> ■ Vise Chair Alexandra Zollo held a moment of silence. <br /> Review and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes <br /> ➢ The minutes of the previous Environmental Oversight Committee meeting, held on December <br /> llth, 2023. <br /> ■ Motion to table said minutes until they are further reviewed. Minutes now held: August <br /> 30", November 30`h, and December 1 lth. Need to review what minutes have been <br /> submitted to the Town Clerk's Office. <br /> Old Business <br /> y Discussion: <br /> NOAA Grant Submission Update <br /> ■ Ashley Fisher reported that both the applications for the NOAA Coastal Habitat and <br /> Resilience Grant for Tribes and Underserved Committees (Mashpee River Restoration <br /> Project) and the NOAA Transformational Habitat Restoration Grant(Red Brook and <br /> Quashnet Restoration Projects)have been submitted. Ashley also explained that a third <br /> NOAA grant(NOAA Climate Resilience Regional Challenge) will be submitted in <br /> partnership with the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Town of <br /> Falmouth through the Office of Coastal Zone Management for the restoration of the Red <br /> Brook area. All grant are being funded through the Federal Infrastructure Bill. <br /> Other Grant Opportunities and Updates <br /> ■ Ashley Fisher reported that the Town is working with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe to <br /> eradicate invasive species in Santuit Pond(Fanwort and Variable Leaf Milfoil)by <br /> utilizing grant funds received by the Tribe through the Bureau of Indian Affairs and <br /> Town allocated funds. Ashley explained that an NOI is being drafted by both <br /> Conservation and Water and Wetlands to treat the invasive in the near future. The <br />
