Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Committee Minutes February 12, 2024 (Approved 3-7-2024) <br /> Present: Town Manager Rodney Collins, Finance Director Dawn Thayer, Select Board Member John Cotton, <br /> Finance Committee Member A. Gregory McKelvey, School Representative Patricia DeBoer; Member-at Large <br /> John Livingston <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chair Collins at 4:30 pm. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> 2 p.m.—Convene Meeting <br /> MINUTES <br /> 0 Discussion and Approval of the Following Minutes: Tuesday, January 30, 2024 <br /> The Town Manager asked the Committee to hold voting on the minutes to give the members more time to <br /> review them. The members took no action on the minutes and will vote at the next meeting. <br /> APPOINTMENTS& HEARINGS <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE - None <br /> ............... <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Possible Approval of Capital Improvement Submissions and Five-Year Capital <br /> Improvement Plan <br /> Mr, Collins stated that there are two issues to be acted upon by the CIP Committee: <br /> - Security it <br /> - Flooring Replacement <br /> There will be an operational meeting with the Superintendent;School Finance Director;Police and Fire Chiefs; <br /> Town Manager; Assistant Town Manager and the Facilities Supervisor to discuss the possible need for <br /> "re eaters or amplifiers" to help with the radio communication in the schools and how the security film, if <br /> installed, will impact the reception byte public safety radios.The assessment will be one with and without <br /> the security film. It was further stated that the film alone of cost $37,287 and if the amplifiers are <br /> purchased than the film would be sacrificed, of cannot be purchased with what is currently proposed. <br /> The Facilities Supervisor Brad Tripp had sent notice via the DPW Director that if only the Mashpee Middle- <br /> High School Cafeteria Flooring were to be done it of be at a cost of approximately $47,500 (Original <br /> request was for a total of$100,000 for various flooring projects. <br /> There was discussion byte Committee as to what was the best way to distribute the $100,000 currently <br /> proposed for these projects, or if the entire CIP plan should be increased by approximately $50,000. Ms. <br /> DeBoer suggested that the Committee should recommend that the additional monies be taken from the <br /> Capital Stabilization Fund. The Finance Director stated that there are enough funds to do the additional <br /> $47,500. <br /> The Town Manager asked if there were more questions. <br /> There were none, <br />
