<br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />1. Associate Membership: Interview with Dwight Pfundstein, an interested applicant for an open <br />position. <br />Chair Thomas requested that this item be addressed first on the agenda in order to take care of any <br />administrative duties that go along with it. The Commissioners in attendance agreed. <br />Dwight Pfundstein addressed the Commission regarding his interest in filling the vacant Associate <br />Member position. He stated that he has been a Mashpee resident for 38 years and has been boating in the <br />area for the same amount of time. He said that he is very familiar with the waterways and enjoys shell <br />fishing recreationally year round. He stated that the waterways and water quality is very important to him. <br />Mr. Pfundstein went on to state that he holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Conservation. He <br />said he feels very strongly about the environment. <br />He has also volunteered his time with many Town projects. <br />Mr. Pfundstein thanked the Commission for their consideration. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Chair Thomas to endorse Dwight Pfundstein for the position as Associate <br />Member to the Shellfish Commission. <br />Motion seconded by Co-Chair Cook. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />2. Shellfish Constable Report. <br />Chris Avis gave his monthly report to the Commission stating that he and the NRO are doing a lot of the <br />vessel maintenance in house. <br />He said that they have been checking all of the bottom gear and it all appears to be overwintering just <br />fine. <br />It was reported that a total of 22 cages have been pulled, culled and stacked from the Mashpee River. <br />Chris stated that a workshop has been set up at their shack on Little River and that they are in the process <br />of having several windows replaced. <br />Americorps will be coming for a day sometime in May. <br />There has been 4 confirmed seasonal workers and they will be starting the first week of May. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL TOPICS: None at this Time. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Christensen. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Holmes. <br />Motion was passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:32pm. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />Susan Donovan <br />Board Secretary <br />3 <br /> <br />
