µ40.. 0,0
Town Of Mashplee Historic District Commission
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
NEW BUSINESS
Chairman Hyde stated there were currently four vacancies for the Historic District Commission and that
today two applicants were being presented. The first applicant was Catherine Loyko. Ms. Loyko noted
that she had retired a couple years ago and that she's interested in staying involved in the Town and
wanted to learn more about the Historic District Commission. There was general discussion between
Ms. Loyko and the Commissioners. With no questions from the Commissioners,Chairman Hyde noted
that he had known Ms. Loyko for a long time and that she was committed to the Town of Mashpee.
Chairman Hyde sought motion to highly recommend Ms. Loyko to fill one of the vacancies on the
Historic District Commission.
MOTION: Mr. Balzarini made the motion as noted above. Ms. Paxton seconded. All in favor.
The Town Planner informed Ms. Loyko that he would submit the recommendation of her candidacy for
one of the vacancies of the Historic District Commission for appointment to the Select Board. He stated
that the Commission was eager for her appointment, and advised there would be an interview process
with the Select Board. Chairman Hyde suggested she review the Historic District Commission Manual on
the Town's website.
The Town Planner brought in the second candidate, Shane Gibbons. Mr. Gibbons introduced himself to
the Commission stating his background was in architecture and design and that he has a general
contracting license,as well. He also noted that his primary residence was also in Mashpee's Historic
District. He stated that he wanted to participate on this Commission as a means to giving back to the
community.
The Commissioners had no questions for Mr.Gibbons, but noted that if he was appointed to the
Commission and he needed to appear before the Commission for any requests for his personal property,
he would need to recuse himself.
With no further questions from the Commissioners or the Public,Chairman Hyde sought motion to
highly recommend Mr. Gibbons to fill one of the vacancies on the Historic District Commission.
MOTION: Mr. Balzarini made the motion as noted above.
