<br /> <br />MINUTES <br />MASHPEE BOARD OF SEWER COMMISSIONERS <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2024, 5:00 p.m. <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br />WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM <br />16 GREAT NECK ROAD NORTH <br />MASHPEE, MA 02649 <br />*In-person, televised meeting* <br /> <br />Present: Chair, Chad Smith, Vice-Chair, Meredith Harris (via Zoom), Clerk, Catherine Casteneda <br /> (arrived at 5:20 p.m.), Phyllis Sprout, Al Towle <br /> <br />Other Attendees: John Cotton, 30 Nobska Rd. <br /> Wastewater Superintendent, Jared Meader <br /> Sandra Tripp, GHD <br /> <br />Absent: Joe Lyons <br /> <br />5:00PM – Convene Meeting: Chair, Chad Smith called the meeting to order at 5:00PM in open session at <br />Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />MOMENT OF SILENCE <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION <br />Town Manager, Rodney Collins read a prepared statement regarding funding of Phase 2 of the Wastewater <br />Project. He stated that he recently met with Envision Mashpee and the Clean Water Coalition and that it was <br />suggested that this is critical timing necessary to provide voters with information for the upcoming Town <br />Meeting on May 6, 2024. <br />Mr. Collins explained that Article #6 of the Special Town Meeting Warrant will rescind the previously <br />authorized borrowing at the October 1, 2023 Town Meeting in the amount of $4.5 million. <br />Mr. Collins went on to explain that Article #4 of the Annual Town Meeting will authorize the Town to fund <br />$96.1 million for the completion of Phase 2 of the project. <br />It was reported that the scope of the plan and roadways involved can be found on the Town of Mashpee <br />website by clicking the “Clean Water” tab at the top of the page. <br />He proceeded to provide a good faith estimate of what the cost will be to the residents of Mashpee stating <br />that all available funding sources have been utilized to lower the amount to be assessed to the levy through a <br />debt exclusion in May. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br />None at this Time. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Discussion and approval of the February 22, 2024 Sewer Commission Meeting minutes. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Towle to approve the minutes of the February 22, 2024 Sewer Commission <br />meeting. <br />Motion seconded by Phyllis Sprout. <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
