ONFURSAWN <br /> Mashpee - Wakeby Lake Management <br /> Committee <br /> March 26,2024 7:00 PM <br /> Mash[ee TownwHall <br /> Meeting called by: Debi McManus <br /> Type of meeting: Monthly <br /> Secretary: Barbara B.Nichols <br /> Attendees: Members: Barbara Nichols, Paul Bibo,Allison Bernhardt <br /> Guests: Ashley Fisher, M.Wyman-Columbo, Liaison <br /> The minutes of the January 23, 2024 meeting were accepted as written after a motion by Paul Bibo and <br /> second by Allison Bernhardt. <br /> Agenda topics <br /> [Agenda topic 1] Lake level/River outflow <br /> Discussion: Debi did the lake measurements on February 3 a.and there were 55.3 feet above sea level with <br /> 17.5 inches of water flowing over the board closest to the lake. There were 14 inches of water in the <br /> stream, and the metal gauge installed by DPW read 13.5. Levels were noted on March 2nd and 17th.and <br /> both times were 55.5 ft. above sea level, with 15 and then 16 inches of water flowing over the board. The <br /> stream level increased from 14.5 to15.5 inches and the DPW gauge increased from 14.5 to 16 inches. <br /> Levels were reported to Drew McManus in Conservation. <br /> Drew was also notified of another branch in the fish way which he removed. and he was asked to clean <br /> the white gauge installed by Horsely and Witten which has a scum build up. This was done by the <br /> Assistant Conservation agent. Finally, with the water at 55.5 ft. above sea level, Drew was emailed that <br /> shoreline damage occurs above this water level, and he decided to lift a 2 X 4 to allow further water run <br /> off with the amount of rain forecast for this week. The river has been cleaned out of debris from the lake <br /> to Rt. 28 and further down river will be done this week, <br /> Barbara measured 2.5 inches of rain in her rain gauge the first half of March. <br /> Conclusions: The water level is up with increased precipitation. <br /> [Agenda topic 21 Jet ski Noise and Reckless <br /> OperatioD <br /> Discussion: Allison plans to gather data about jet ski infractions and get 20 signatures on a petition to ban <br /> jet skiis on all Mashpee fresh water ponds.
