HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> FRIDAY, JANUARY 21, 2022, 11:00 AM, via zoom <br /> Present: Mary Bradbury, Christine Willander, Ebony Steele, Lynne Waterman, Lynne <br /> Barbee and Gail Wilson, Director of Human Services <br /> Call to Order: 11:04 AM <br /> Public Comment: none <br /> Old Business: <br /> Review of Minutes from December, 17, 2021 - edits/additions made, minutes as <br /> changed approved. <br /> Review of Draft of updated Committee By-Laws - extensive discussion, several <br /> edits/additions made, to be reviewed again in February. <br /> New Business: <br /> Lynne Waterman, Director of Council on Aging, is retiring as of January 31 , <br /> 2022. She has been director since 2013, but has served the Town for 33 years. There <br /> will not be an "interim" director, the Town will post a vacancy. There will be no <br /> temporary replacement on the Human Services Committee. All Committee Members <br /> thank her for her commitment to the residents of Mashpee and her service on the <br /> Human Services Committee. <br /> Membership on the Committee: <br /> There will be two vacancies: Director of Council on Aging and one at-large <br /> member. As Lynne Waterman has been Chair, a new Chair must be elected. <br /> Director's Report: <br /> Reviewed Director's Report. Major issues discussed included: mental health <br /> counseling referrals; family members struggling with addiction; domestic <br /> violence support and referral including financial assistance; and residents facing <br /> eviction. The Mashpee Substance Use Task Force was discussed as the Director <br /> is the Chair, they continue to meet monthly with approximately 22 members <br /> and there are alternatives to Drop-In Night being discussed. <br /> Additional Topics: <br /> none <br /> Next Meeting Schedule: February 18, 11 am, by zoom <br /> Adjournment: 11 :57 AM <br />
