HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE
MEETING AGENDA
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2021
2:00 P.M. ZOOM MEETING
PRESENT: Lynne Waterman, Ebony Steel, Mary Bradbury, Christine Willander, Lynne Barbee
Gail Wilson, Director of Human Services
CALL TO ORDER : 2:05 pm
PUBLIC COMMENT - none
OLD BUSINESS -
No minutes to approve as there was no quorum at the last meeting on February 2020.
NEW BUSINESS
' Review of Committee Members
Gail reported that Frank Fantasia, long-term member, has retired and resigned; she will remind him that he
needs to send a letter of resignation to the Select Board. We have vacancies on the Committee. There have been
names on a waiting list, but that information is dated. Gail will review the list. Lynne B. said she knows of a
person who is interested; she will contact this person to let her know how to apply.
There is a question of who from the Select Board is assigned to this committee, as liaison or voting member.
' Update Committee By-Laws
The Committee By-Laws are very old (1999) and need to be revised and updated. There is no electronic
version. After a review and discussion of several of the articles, Christine W. offered to provide an electronic
version that can be shared, so the committee members can provide input. She will email the electronic copy to
the members so that we can address the issue at the next meeting.
' Human Services Contracts
Gosnold informed Gail in June 2021 that they would not be renewing their request for funds. Gail therefore
transferred the FY2023 Gosnold funds ($4,892.00) to Independence House, where the need increased under
COVID. Contracts for FY2022 and FY2023 are attached. All recipients did good work, as best they could,
under COVID restrictions. Sight Loss Services saw increased isolation for residents who rely on in-person
services for support. The St. Vincent DePaul food bank shifted to drive-through. The VNA had to cancel most of
their programs (especially at the closed Senior Center); this year some of their in-person programs can resume.
There is no change in the total amount of$46,592.00.
Gail was able to continue with clinical/administrative work remotely, mostly by phone.
ADDITIONAL TOPICS
This space is reserved for topics that the Chair did not reasonably
anticipate would be discussed.
NEXT MEETING SCHEDULE : Fridays seem to work better than Thursdays. The next meeting is by zoom
on Friday, December 17, 11 am.
ADJOURNMENT : 3:10 pm
