• How would you describe the role of the Conservation Commission. <br /> o Working with the public,people have an opinion but if you abide by the rules and <br /> play by the rules then there is no reason why you can't do what you want to do in <br /> town. It is important to play by the rules and talk about conservation in a positive <br /> light. <br /> • Are you willing to go on site visits and attend courses for wetlands training with the MA <br /> Association of Conservation Commissions <br /> o Yes, and yes. <br /> • Asked to elaborate more on your career as an electrician. <br /> o The majority of his work has been in new construction, however, recently he has <br /> taken on more service work to help give back to the town. <br /> • Do you have any familiarity with local or state regulations? <br /> o Mr. Sahl is familiar with what he has learned through the planning and permitting <br /> process. <br /> • Mr. Sahl is asked his opinion on climate change, sea level rise and the impact on the <br /> work done by the Conservation Commission. <br /> o He has noticed a rising of the tides and pays more attention to the incoming <br /> storms. <br /> • Asked to elaborate on the strategies he has on marrying Mashpee's development with <br /> environmental stewardship. <br /> o Mr. Sahl states he can bring a new perspective to the Commission and trying to <br /> help the people move forward and get things done. <br /> o Mr. Sahl said he understands there's a lot to learn about wetland regulations <br /> AGENT COMMENTS <br /> Mr. Kent states that he has observed Mr. Sahl showing an understanding and willingness <br /> to learn about the laws. The Agent adds that it's reassuring to know Mr. Sahl plans on living <br /> there for a while. <br /> The Chairman states and explains Selectboard Policy 001, which is followed by the <br /> Commission, and requests that the Commissioners fill out their evaluation forms quickly and <br /> submit them to him and the conservation Agents. <br /> VOTE <br /> Vote to cancel July 11, 2024, meeting —There is no Agent available to attend. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Cook to cancel the July 11, 2024, meeting. Motion seconded by <br /> Ms. Thornbrugh. Mrs Clapprood and Ms Copeland departed the meeting prior to this vote <br /> 2 <br />
