<br /> Mashpee Economic Development Industrial Corporation (EDIC) <br />Minutes – August 27, 2024 <br />6:00 PM <br />Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> <br />Present: Carol Sherman, Pamela McCarthy, Patrice Pimental, Glenn Thompson, Robyn <br />Simmons <br /> <br />Absent: Denise Dutson <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Carol Sherman opened the meeting at 6:06 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Approval of 7/30/2024 minutes <br />Pamela McCarthy moved that the committee approve the 7/30/2024 minutes, Glenn <br />Thompson seconded, Robyn abstained as she had been absent. The rest of the committee <br />approved the minutes. <br /> <br />3. Finance Report: The bank statements were not yet released. <br /> <br />4. Mashpee Educate, Dream, Inspire, Create Contest: <br />The committee discussed the rules included in the 7/30/2024 agenda. The following changes <br />were agreed upon: <br /> <br /> Rule 9: The business must have annual revenues of less than $1 million as demonstrated <br />by tax returns or other means acceptable to the EDIC (previously the amount was $3 <br />million) <br /> <br /> Additional rule: Contestants will allow the EDIC to use their logo and name as part of the <br />contest and to promote the contest. (Carol will consult with town counsel about this, and <br />have town counsel go over the rules to ensure all necessary legal issues are addressed <br />and covered). <br /> <br />The committee also went over the timeline and prizes included in the minutes for the 7/30/2024 <br />meeting and had no changes. <br /> <br />Timeline, revised rules, ranking system, and prizes included at the end of the minutes. <br /> <br />Judges: The committee discusses potential judges and who would be appropriate to invite. <br />Members will come back with one or two suggestions for the committee to discuss next month. <br /> <br />EforAll: Patrice said she would invite Jennifer Christina or Len Kizer from EforAll to the next <br />meeting, as they would have some good input to the contest and would be a great connection <br />to have in general, as both the EDIC and EforAll strive to help local businesses succeed. <br /> <br /> <br />
