2. There will be eight new sections, each measuring 10 ft by 3 ft. Additionally, a small <br /> section of the boardwalk needs to be raised because it is underwater during high tides. <br /> The proposal includes adding footings underneath the existing sections, with no digging <br /> required. <br /> 3. Consideration was given to removing the new sections before a storm, but it was <br /> determined that this would not be feasible. <br /> COMMISSIONERS COMMENTS <br /> 1. The project is expected to take 1 to 2 days for completion. The newer sections will be <br /> prepared offsite and brought in by truck. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS -None <br /> AGENT COMMENTS <br /> • Consideration has been given for an elevated boardwalk to facilitate <br /> educational and monitoring access. <br /> • Any redesign will focus on making the boardwalk more environmentally <br /> friendly by increasing sunlight exposure and reducing impacts on wildlife <br /> passage or the risk of wildlife being trapped during flooding events. <br /> • 'Repairs will involve minimizing impacts on the salt marsh." <br /> • Agent recommends: Negative Determination <br /> Motion made by Ms. Clapprood for a negative determination.
