PUBLIC COMMENT John Malloy, Popponesset Beach Association (PBA). o Hired Beal's and Thomas, Inc., a professional engineering firm, to review the Regulation 25 draft. Once the report is received, a copy will be provided to the Commission. • Mr. Malloy presented a list of requests from the PBA, including: o A workshop between the Commission and the PBA o Waiting to complete the Regulation 25 update to review it alongside DEP Regulations. Margie Ross Decter, Board Member with Save Popponesset Bay • Supports having the Commission host a workshop to discuss concerns related to the Regulation 25 draft. • Details partnerships between communities and public/private entities. Ms. Decter outlines the history of Save Popponesset Bay, Popponesset Bay, and the Popponesset Spit("the Spit"). • Duties include (but are not limited to): o Paying for and holding permits to dredge the Popponesset Island channel o Dune and Beach restoration and nourishment o Protecting endangered wildlife on"the spit" o Supplementing the town budget for dredging o Enabling the town to deposit spoils from its channel dredging 3
