MASHPEE CULTURAL COUNCIL <br /> MINUTES JULY 10, 2024 <br /> MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER, ARTS AND CRAFTS ROOM <br /> PRESENT: Wendy Bornstein, Pamela Joseph, Diane Scott, Lee Smith. Not present: Winnie <br /> Graham, Janet Wright. <br /> Attendees: Celeste Kramer, Rochelle St. John, candidates for Council membership. <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Lee Smith at 10:04 AM. A quorum was determined to <br /> be present. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 9, 2023 <br /> The minutes of the Meeting of November 9, 2023 were unanimously APPROVED on motion by <br /> W. Bornstein, seconded by Lee Smith. <br /> INTRODUCTION OF CANDIDATES FOR COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP <br /> Two candidates for Council membership were introduced. <br /> Celeste Kramer is an interior designer who has lived in Mash.pee for eight years. She is a patron <br /> of the arts and is an artist in her own right who paints pastels. She previously lived in Medfield, <br /> MA, where she was president of the Hannah Adams Society, which raised money for <br /> scholarships. <br /> Rochelle St. John is a retired social worker who has been a resident of Mashpee for two years. <br /> She volunteers at the Masbpee Senior Center and wants to become more involved in the <br /> community. She has experience in grant writing. Her daughter is a member of the Warnpanoag <br /> community who is involved with the arts. <br /> TREASURER'S REPORT <br /> Wendy Bornstein reported that oftbe $6776 grant funds approved in 2023, $2160 in grants have <br /> been reimbursed, there are $1900 in payments in progress, and $2716 in grant funds have not yet <br /> been reimbursed. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 'No old business was brought 1"orward. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Review and Update Local Guidelines and Priorities <br /> Members reviewed the current Local Guidelines and Priorities, which need to be updated <br /> annually by August 31, 2024. On motion by W. Bornstein, seconded by Pamela Joseph, it was <br /> unanimously voted to adopt the current Local Guidelines and Priorities without change, except <br /> for updating the current year's timeline for applications. <br />
