Town of Mashpee

16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649

BOARD OF HEALTH – EXECUTIVE SESSION

Mashpee Town Hall – ADMINISTRATIVE CONFERENCE ROOM

Minutes of the Meeting of Thursday, April 16, 2015

Board Members Present: Also Present:
Lucy Burton, Chair Glen Harrington, Health Agent
Burton Kaplan, Co-Chairman
Kalliope Egloff, Clerk

Chair Lucy Burton called the Executive Session Meeting to order at 8:51 PM regarding 394 Cotuit Road.

394 Cotuit Road.
Glen Harrington stated that at the last meeting he was asked to telephone the owner of 394 Cotuit Road,
Vickie McFarland-Richter. Mr. Harrington spoke to Mrs. McFarland-Richter’s daughter, Jamie, on April 3, 2015,
and discovered the following: Mrs. McFarland-Richter was laid off for the winter and is now back to work. Mrs.
McFarland-Richter’s mother recently passed away.

Mr. Harrington inquired about the dogs. Jamie, the daughter, stated that the dogs are great and are finally
house broken. There are four dogs and two cats in the house. Jamie and her husband, Sean Sacchetti, are
staying in her old bedroom inside the house. They did not get their own place as originally planned when
funding was available by the Veteran’s Administration. Mr. Harrington requested that Vickie McFarland-Richter
return his call, but as yet she has not contacted him. If there was no progress, then a show cause letter is the
next step.

Kalliope Egloff made a motion that the Board of Health send the owner of 394 Cotuit Road a show cause letter
as to why she has failed to clean the excessive clutter in her house. Burton Kaplan seconded the motion. The
motion was unanimously approved.

Roll Call Vote: Burton Kaplan, yes; Lucy Burton, yes; Kalliope Egloff, yes.

The Executive Session Meeting was adjourned at 8:58 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Frances Boulos
Administrative Assistant
Mashpee Board of Health
1
