TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> MEETING <br /> June 15, 1989 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Members present: George R. Costa, Stephen J. Greelish and John T. Doherty <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING. 11' IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSCRIBING <br /> MINUTES. <br /> Mr. George R. Costa, Chairman <br /> 1 . ) Warrants signed <br /> 2. ) Mr. Doherty motioned to accept the minutes of June 8, 1989, Mr. Costa <br /> seconded. Mr. Doherty motioned to accept the Special Meeting minutes <br /> of June 8, 1989, Mr. Costa seconded. <br /> 3. ) Perc extension requests - Winslow Farms subdivision ( approx. 40 peres, <br /> extensions previously granted) - Mr. Evans voiced his concerns with the <br /> possible change in ground water elevations as the original Perc tests <br /> were performed in 1986. Mr. Evans stated in some areas, where it is <br /> fairly flat, road run--off may cause _a significant increase in ground <br /> water elevation. <br /> Mr. Greelish suggested, once the well is installed ground water ele- <br /> vations could be determined if no change in elevation has taken place <br /> then the pert will be extended for six months. Mr. Greelish stated <br /> this would be performed on an individual lot basis and a $50.00 fee <br /> would be charged. <br /> Mr. Costa requested Mr. Evans inform the owner of the subdivision of <br /> this Board' s alternative to re-perking and report to the Board with <br /> his decision. <br /> 4. ) Memo from E.A.M. to Board re: Removal of dredged material - Seconsett <br /> Island - Mr. Costa questioned D.E.Q.E. ' s denial to accept the dredge <br /> material at the landfill . <br /> Mr. Evans stated the amount of chloride content in the dredge material <br /> may have been a factor in D.E.Q.E. ' s decision. <br /> Mr. Greelish recommended the dredge material remain on the lot for six <br /> months then transferred to the landfill where it could be spread out <br /> to dry, <br /> Mr. Doherty questioned as to whether the dredge material could be <br /> watered down with fresh water to dilute the salt content. <br /> Mr. Evans stated, it is possible to dilute it with fresh water. <br /> Mr. Greelish stated the rain will dilute much of it. <br />
