<br />Town of Mashpee <br /> <br />Shellfish Commission 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> <br />Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF MEETING – May 10, 2011 <br /> <br />Attendance: <br />Stephen Marques, Peter Thomas, William Holmes, Richard York and Annawon <br />Weeden <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve the March 8, 2011 minutes made by <br />York and seconded by Holmes. Vote: unanimous in favor. <br />Motion to approve the April 12, 2011 made by Thomas and seconded by York. <br />Vote: unanimous in favor. <br /> <br /> <br />Public Comment: None <br /> <br />Shellfish Constable’s Report: The budget for the fiscal year starting June 30, <br />2011 includes $30,000 for shellfish propagation. This will allow us to get <br />3,000,000 quahog seed (up from 1 million last year) as well as 1,000 oyster spat <br />bags and scallop seed. Barnstable County is funding 200,000 of the quahog <br />seed and 200 of the oyster spat bags. Americorps scheduled for next 3 months <br />to work on shellfish propagation. <br /> <br />Some residents are reporting more water flow in the Mashpee River and <br />Shoestring Bay since the recent maintenance dredging of the Popponesset Bay <br /> <br />
