Cemetery Commission <br /> March 5, 2012 <br /> Members present: Ernest Virgilio, Michael Scirpoli <br /> Others: Catherine Laurent <br /> The meeting was opened at 4:00 p.m.. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> The minutes from the November 7, 2011 meeting were approved unanimously. <br /> Great Neck Woods Landscaping <br /> The Commission reviewed the proposal from Briggs Landscaping to supplement the "natural" <br /> area along Great Neck Road South with additional plants. The Committee voted to accept the <br /> proposal. <br /> The Committee also discussed installing trees along Section B as a noise and visual barrier from <br /> Mercantile Way. The estimate from Briggs Landscaping for planting of 9 white pines is $3000. <br /> There is not sufficient funding in the current budget. The Committee will reconsider in FY13. <br /> Great Neck Woods Lighting <br /> The lighting for the sign has been completed. <br /> Cemetery Plot Sales and Burials <br /> Sales has averaged 24 plots per year or$26,000. The Commission discussed comparing the fees <br /> to other towns but the consensus was that the current fees more than supported the <br /> cemetery's maintenance so no increase was needed. <br /> Other <br /> Ernie will forward information to Catherine on the granite water spigots. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.. <br /> Respectively submitted, <br /> Catherine Laurent <br /> DPW Director <br />
