Ms. Sharfenberg had some connections with the 300 Club and would <br />share information with them. <br />Design Review Committee-Mr. Cummings reported that there was no meeting <br />Community Preservation Committee-The Chair stated that the next meeting would be <br />May 26 to consider requests for October Town Meeting. The CPC would be reviewing a <br />proposal to fund signage for the Historic District. The Chair will recommend a universal design <br />to be used for signage. Mr. Balzarini mentioned use of brass signage. <br />Environmental Oversight Committee-Mr. Cummings reported that further work had <br />been completed regarding the plastic bag ban which would encourage residents to use reusable <br />bags. Mr. Cummings also referenced the Town Meeting Article that had been drafted to create a <br />Department of Natural Resources for Mashpee. There was agreement that it was a good addition <br />to Mashpee and that Rick York would be an ideal candidate to head the department. The <br />Popponesset shellfish plan anticipated completing 1/3 for 3 years in order to rotate the harvest. <br />Five waterways assistants were being advertised and ponds were reported to be doing very well. <br />There was also a discussion regarding the predation of oyster seeds by green crabs.
