<br /> The Select Board, acting as the 1,ocal Licensing Authority for the '17own of Mashpee opened the public
<br /> hearing on the application of Uva, Wine Botitique, 20 North Street,Mash1jee for a,New Annual in & Malt
<br /> Beverages Package Store License. In accordance with posting reqttireinerits,fl-ie hearing notice was read into
<br /> the record.
<br /> Miclielle Manware and Katharine'lliayer, principal owriers were in attendance to discuss their license request
<br /> with members ofthe Select Board and interested public. Uva Wine Boutique is planned as a high.-end,
<br /> specialty wine boutique located in. Masbpee Commons. Wines featured atUvaWinn Bar along with wines
<br /> from around flie world, local craft beers, offier beers,hard ciders, and seltzers would be sold at the new
<br /> location. Snacks and items of fike associated.to this type of merchandise would also be of.Tered.

<br /> Ms. Manware indicated the I Jva Wine Bar opened in late December. The coinmunity has been very
<br /> welcomin& and there has been interest from the public to purchase the wines that are generally not readily
<br /> available to the consamiers, The Uva Wine Boutique is a key component to the success of the T.Jva, in Bar.
<br /> Space,an estimated 500 square feet is readily available in Mashpee Commotis twar the main establishment
<br /> located at 28 North Street, Mashipee. Two similar locations orl the Cape have sister businesses.
<br /> It was disclosed the Town of Mashpee, through its Zoning Bylaws, Ifinits the number of licenses fbr the retail
<br /> sale of alcoholic t-mv era ges ziot to be drunk on.premises v-) (5) off-prernises retail all alcohol and, (5)off-
<br /> prernises.retail wine & malt package store licenses, As such, (2)retail cmirtabisficenses are allowed (fewer
<br /> than 20% of the licenses issued) and have been. issued. Currently, there are no licenses available, However, as
<br /> this subject is based on.population, the Seasonal Population Estimate ffir this year is -fbrthcoming in the next
